Happy New Year!

This soup with mochi rice cake is a traditional New Year's food in Japan. (Wikipedia photo)

Dec. 29 - Ann and I will spend our New Year's Day with my brother-in-law and his family. Ann will make "Ozoni" in the way her mother taught her.

Ann and I wish all of the readers of this blog a Happy New Year. This season is a time of hope and renewal. In this spirit, we will be thinking of the families living in northeast Japan, confident that their strength and resilience will contribute to ongoing regional recovery in the new year.

Until next time,

Jim
