President Obama Expresses Condolences

March 25 - A Japanese friend of mine encouraged me to watch this video about the message President Obama wrote in the Japanese Embassy condolence book. I encourage you to watch it as well.

President Obama eloquently conveyed our sorrow for the victims, our desire to help our friends in their time of need, and our conviction that the Japanese people will recover from this tragedy and rebuild their great nation.

The President wrote, "Because of the strength and wisdom of its people, we know that Japan will recover, and indeed will emerge stronger than ever."

Until next time,

Jim

Thank you for your hard work! It's not easy or fun work, but I commend your dedication to helping people since you have the means to do so. I can only imagine what a relief it was to the people around you that you were there. d^_^b

A nuclear power plant accident of Fukushima - Please help us. American help is necessary. Please come for help early.

I truly appreciate your friendship. The Japanese would never forget on the dawn (in the US, the earthquake happened around midnight) of 3.11, President Obama spoke to the public and declared the US will "Stand with Japan"! We were so encouraged by his word and, speedy, devoted, and effective "Tomodachi Sakusen."

I thank you; I bet all of Japanese thank all of good wishes, all of help from American people.

Dear The Honorable Jim Zumwalt:

I live in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, one of the areas devasted by the recent earthquake. First up, thank you very much for your country's compassionate actions for Japan.

My sister city, Hot Springs, Arkansas has also been offering a helping hand to Hanamaki. They have been fundrasing more than US$12,600 for a week and the first part of the donations was transmitted here yesterday. The citizens of Hanamaki are so moved by their friends' compassion in the United States.

I would like to inform you of this generous gesture from my favorite city in your country. Please refer to the links below to know their process to help Hanamaki and its neighboring areas.

Once again, thank you very much for your continued support for Japan.
